Location & General Information

1. Where is Shuttleberg located and how do I get there?

Shuttleberg is located between Flachauwinkl and Kleinarl in the province of Salzburg. You can reach us easily via the Tauern Motorway (A10), taking the Flachauwinkl or Kleinarl exit. The ski area is also easily accessible by train and bus. Detailed travel information can be found on our Getting Here page.
 

2. Is parking available and how much does it cost?

Free parking is available for our guests at both base stations.
 

3. What are the opening hours of the ski area?

  • Our lifts operate from early December to mid-April
  • Slope opening hours: 08:30–16:30
  • Park opening hours: 09:30–16:00

4. Is the ski area snow-reliable and are the slopes well groomed?

Yes! All slopes at Shuttleberg are carefully groomed every day by our experienced slope maintenance team. Modern snowmaking systems and three snowmaking reservoirs ensure sufficient snow coverage whenever temperatures allow – from December through April.

 

Tickets & Prices

5. How can I buy ski passes and how much do they cost?

Ski passes can be purchased online via our ticket shop or directly at the ticket offices. An adult day pass costs EUR 79during the high season and is valid in Kleinarl, Flachauwinkl, Zauchensee and Snow Space Salzburg. With the online early booking bonus, tickets are available from EUR 67.

In addition, the ALL-IN Card White is available. This season pass grants access to all ski areas of Ski amadé throughout the entire winter: 760 kilometres of slopes, 270 modern lifts and an unparalleled variety of experiences – see ALL-IN Card White.

6. Are there discounts for children, teenagers or groups?

Yes, we offer attractive family discounts, group rates and special discounts for children. All details can be found under Tickets.

 

Winter Offers & Events

7. Who is Shuttleberg best suited for?

Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl – Kleinarl is the number one ski area for sporty families. Together with your children, you can explore the mountain in a fun and relaxed way on easy blue slopes and ski routes. At the same time, the 40 kilometres of snow-reliable slopes, numerous special runs and natural freeride routes offer plenty of fun and variety for adults as well.

Perfect for freestylers: Absolut Park, one of the largest snowparks in Europe, offers plenty of action and tricks for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. Under the motto “Freestyle for Life”, creativity, freedom and fun in the snow take centre stage.

 

8. What special runs are available at Shuttleberg?

Shuttleberg offers exciting highlights for skiers and snowboarders:

  • Speed Course: Measure your speed in km/h
  • Race Course: Time measurement down to one hundredth of a second
  • Cross Run: Boardercross and skicross course


9. What is the Family Run?

The Family Run is a 19 km-long blue route, ideal for families.

  • Wide, easy-to-ski trails
  • 19 stations with life-sized Crazy Dolls along the route
  • Reward for all participants: a surprise & sticker

10. Who are the Crazy Dolls?

The Crazy Dolls are Shuttleberg’s mascots, inspired by animals from around the world.
They represent fun, adventure and environmental awareness, and accompany children and families all across the mountain.
 

11. What is the Sun House?

The Sun House, located at the mid-station in Flachauwinkl between the Sunshine Shuttle and Family Shuttle, is the perfect place for a break – ideal for warming up, relaxing and playing. Enjoy snacks and hot tea, watch comics or cartoons, and let the kids play while adults unwind.

Facilities: comic cinema, cosy sofas, hot water dispensers, sun terrace with loungers, and a drying room for ski boots.


12. What is the Chill House?

The Chill House, located at the base station of the Absolut Park Shuttle below Absolut Park, is the meeting point for anyone who wants to relax, skate or take a break with friends. The two-storey building with large panoramic windows features chill areas, a bouldering wall and a full-size skate mini ramp – the first of its kind on a mountain worldwide – with a perfect view of the Jib Park.
 

13. What is Absolut Park?

Absolut Park at Shuttleberg is one of the largest snowparks in Europe, featuring kicker lines, rails, a halfpipe and a beginner area for all skill levels. Use of the park is included in the lift ticket. More information is available at absolutpark.com.
 

14. Which lift facilities are available at Shuttleberg?

Shuttleberg features seven detachable chairlifts with weather protection, taking you comfortably and quickly (hence the name “shuttle”) up the mountain. The Panorama Link gondola connects Shuttleberg with Snow Space Salzburg and the ski paradise of Zauchensee. All lifts are modern and fast, giving you a short breather without wasting valuable fun time before heading back onto the slopes.

 

15. Are there any events or competitions at Shuttleberg?

Yes, we offer a wide range of events for all age groups:


Weekly participation events:

  • Tuesday: Kids Day
  • Wednesday & Sunday: Shuttle Games
  • Thursday: Speed Race

Ski Schools, Rental & Accommodation

19. Are there ski schools at Shuttleberg?

Yes, there are ski and snowboard schools directly in the ski area for all age groups. AbsolutSchool in Flachauwinkl specializes in freeski and freestyle snowboard. There are also courses for beginners, children, and adults, taught by highly trained and motivated instructors.
 

20. Can I rent equipment?

Yes, there are several sports shops in Flachauwinkl and Kleinarl offering ski and snowboard rentals.
 

21. Are there restaurants in the ski area?

Yes, spread across the mountain you’ll find restaurants and mountain huts inviting you to stop in and enjoy.
 

22. Are there accommodations nearby?

Numerous hotels, guesthouses, and holiday apartments are located directly at the valley stations and in the village centers. An overview is available on our accommodation page.

Summer at Shuttleberg

24. Is there a summer offering at Shuttleberg as well?

Yes, the Champion Shuttle in Kleinarl operates on selected days in summer for families, hikers, and mountain bikers. During the main holiday season, the Lumberjack Shuttle is also in operation. Strollers and bicycles can be transported easily.

The Family Run – Summer Edition offers child-friendly fun and action: a stroller-accessible circular trail with eleven slides leading to the organic mountain restaurant Lumberjack, plus exciting climbing areas in the forest.

Bikers will also find plenty to enjoy, with cool pump tracks, safe landing bags for jumps, and varied mountain bike tours.

Sustainability

25. How is Shuttleberg committed to sustainability and environmental protection?

Sustainability and protecting our natural environment are especially important to us at Shuttleberg. That’s why we implement a wide range of measures for environmentally friendly winter sports. We were the first ski resort worldwide to complete a sustainability certification, achieving 3 out of 3 stars and a total of 94 out of 100 possible points. The Good Travel Seal from the Green Destinations Foundation confirms that we take sustainability seriously in all areas and implement it to the highest possible standard.
